CUSTOMER STORY

Tackle has been a game changer in terms of helping my CEO manage his time.

Featuring Hayden Wight, Executive Assistant to CEO at Trainual

“Regardless of industry, listening well, taking good notes and being able to anticipate issues before they arise will help you be successful as an EA”

1. Let’s start with a little intro, what’s your current role at Trainual? What has been the biggest challenge you face in your role?

I am the Executive Assistant to our CEO, Chris. Fitting together all the puzzle pieces of Chris’ calendar is an ongoing challenge, there never seem to be enough hours in the day!

2. Tell us a little more about your overall career and any advice for those aspiring to pursue this career path.

I started in my current role about a year ago after spending the first part of my career working in fashion. Regardless of industry, listening well, taking good notes (for yourself, and your executive) and being able to anticipate issues before they arise will help you be successful as an EA.

3. Time is of essence to have such a successful career, how did you master time-management? Any thoughts, especially around managing your or your team’s calendars?

Leave margins between meetings! It’s common for some meetings to take a bit longer than others, so if you know a group is meeting that is bound to run late, add some breathing room before the next meeting. Also, schedule prep time before big events. Backwards planning time to create presentations, research interviewees, etc. is vital to making sure those events go off without a hitch.

4. On a related note, we are trying to make business calendaring more intelligent. Can you say one or two lines about how Tackle has helped you solve your calendaring problems? We would also love to know your favorite feature of Tackle in a few words.

Tackle has been a game changer in terms of helping my CEO manage his time. It gives me raw data to review at the end of every month about where he spent his time. I love that Tackle lets me create primary and secondary tags so we can track his meetings by department, and type. It’s helped us carve out time for important things that didn’t have a built in spot on the calendar, and to de-prioritize less important commitments. I love being able to customize the graphs on Tackle’s “Insights” page so I know that the data I’m sharing with my CEO is most relevant.
